Where Tint Wiz wins
Tint Wiz is established tint-shop software with a clear offer and a polished workflow. These are the places it genuinely stands out.
- Proven, flat pricing. Tint Wiz publicly lists a flat monthly rate (around $150/mo at the time of this review). For shops that hate tiered add-ons or per-user math, that simplicity is attractive.
- Unlimited users. The same flat price covers the team, which makes it easy to put office staff and installers on the system without watching seat counts.
- QR-labeled film roll inventory. Tint Wiz has a mature, well-tested workflow for tracking film rolls with QR labels. If your shop lives and dies by roll-level inventory accuracy, this is a real strength.
- Auto follow-up proposals. Built-in 24-hour and 48-hour proposal follow-up sequences help shops recover quotes without building the automation themselves.
- Established reputation. Tint Wiz has been in the tint software space long enough to have a strong user base, word-of-mouth trust, and practical daily workflow polish.
Those are not minor points. If your shop is automotive-first, values predictable monthly cost, and wants a battle-tested inventory workflow, Tint Wiz deserves a serious look.
Where Tint Manager is built differently
Tint Manager comes from a different starting point. We are designing one operating record for automotive tint and flat-glass projects, because many independent shops actually run both.
- Automotive + flat glass in one record. A residential project, a commercial storefront, and a vehicle tint can all live in the same customer history. That matters when one client has multiple job types over time.
- Window schedules by room. Flat-glass jobs are scoped room by room, not just as one price. Tint Manager builds the estimate around the actual window list, with orientation, dimensions, and film choices tied to each opening.
- Measurement sign-off workflow. Field measurements can be recorded per room and signed off before the job is locked in. This reduces the risk of ordering film against the wrong scope.
- Margin visibility. We surface film cost, labor, and margin as the proposal is built, so the owner can see whether the quoted price actually makes money before the customer signs.
- Proposals with deposits and Stripe payments. Quotes can include deposit requests and payment collection, tied back to the same project record.
- Two plans and a free trial. Tint Manager offers Starter at $79/month and Pro at $179/month, with a 30-day Pro trial and no credit card required.
The difference is structural, not just a feature checklist. Tint Wiz is automotive tint software that has expanded outward. Tint Manager is being built from the assumption that a tint shop may have automotive and architectural work flowing through the same business.
An honest feature orientation
This is not a fake scorecard. We have kept the table short and plainly labeled, because the goal is orientation, not a theatrical win.
| Area | Tint Wiz | Tint Manager |
|---|---|---|
| Primary vertical heritage | Tint-first, automotive at core | Automotive + flat glass together |
| Flat-glass window schedules | Less emphasized in public positioning | Room-by-room schedules built into project workflow |
| Film roll inventory | QR-labeled roll workflow, proven | Roll inventory by the foot |
| Measurement sign-off | Not a highlighted public workflow | Per-room measurement sign-off in pilot build |
| Pricing model | Flat ~$150/mo (public) | Starter $79/month or Pro $179/month (public); 30-day free Pro trial, no credit card required |
| Onboarding model | Self-serve sign-up path | Public self-serve signup at app.tintmanager.com/signup |
| Current stage | Mature, broadly used | Public signup; 30-day Pro trial |
Switching from Tint Wiz
We do not believe in pretending a switch is effortless. Here is a realistic view.
- Export your customer data. Tint Wiz lets you export customer records as CSV. That is the practical starting point for any move.
- Start a free trial and map it during onboarding. We will look at your CSV together, decide which fields map cleanly, and identify what needs to be cleaned or recreated. We do not offer a done-for-you migration service.
- Expect a parallel run. Most shops should run Tint Manager alongside Tint Wiz for a period while workflows, templates, and inventory are set up. A sudden cutover is usually a bad idea.
- Service catalog and inventory need attention. Film rolls, services, and pricing templates have to be set up to match how your shop actually quotes. That takes real thought, not just an import.
If you are happy with Tint Wiz, we are not going to tell you to rip it out. If your shop is outgrowing an automotive-only workflow or you want flat-glass scope built into the same system, Tint Manager may be worth a free trial.
